About the Honda Passport

Say hello to the most rugged and adventurous member of the proven family of Honda crossovers and SUVs. The Passport offers a unique combination of on-road comfort and invigorating off-road capabilities that help you get out and take the path less traveled. Impressive interior dimensions help create a spacious yet versatile cabin for both you and your passengers to enjoy. Positioned between the compact CR-V and the family-friendly Pilot, the Honda Passport offers a number of key performance features that separate it from the competition. Examples include its reinforced unibody frame, muscular direct-injection i-VTEC® V6 engine, and a fully independent suspension. No matter how challenging the terrain, the optional Honda i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system and its four-mode Intelligent Traction Management system will help you get there. The Honda Passport is available in three individual trim levels: the well-appointed EX-L, adventurous TrailSport, and the fully equipped Elite.

What the Critics Say

Spacious, capable, and nicely equipped for the money, the Honda Passport hits its marks as a mid-size SUV. Sharing many of its mechanicals with the three-row Pilot and Ridgeline pickup, the Passport uses a familiar name from Honda’s 1990s lineup but is fully modern, with plenty of standard safety equipment and optional tech features.” — Car and Driver
The V6 delivers smooth and punchy acceleration. In Edmunds’ instrumented testing, the Passport covered 0-60 mph in 6.8 seconds, which is among the quickest in the class. At full throttle, the nine-speed transmission shifts quickly and efficiently. Steering wheel shift paddles are also on hand to give you manual control.” — Edmunds

What’s New for 2023

For the 2023 model year, the Honda Passport is back essentially unchanged from last year’s version. However, there is one key difference that’s worth highlighting. All Passport trim levels now come standard with the Intelligent Variable Torque Management (i-VTM4™) torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system. This means that the previously available front-wheel drive option has been discontinued. Aside from that one change, the Passport continues to be the most adventurous and capable SUV in the Honda model lineup.

Honda Passport Styling

Rugged Styling

Instantly recognizable as a capable off-road vehicle, the Honda Passport captures attention with its elevated ride height, matte-black grille, blackout headlight design, and optional 20-inch alloy wheels. Even when you return from your adventure, the Passport remains sophisticated enough for city streets with design elements like gloss-back trim, chrome exhaust tips, LED headlight accents, and a striking “floating” C-pillar.

Extending beyond its good looks, the Passport delivers enhanced capability with 0.5 inches of extra ground clearance on front-wheel drive models and 1.1 inches on all-wheel drive variants in comparison to the three-row Honda Pilot. The Passport also benefits from shorter overall length, shorter rear overhangs, and superior breakover and departure angles for remarkable off-road performance.

Versatile Interior

Delivering a modern yet sophisticated look, the interior of the Honda Passport delivers remarkably spacious seating for up to 5 passengers that totals 115.9 cubic feet along with an impressive total interior volume of 157.1 cubic feet. Leather-trimmed upholstery is included as standard and is accented with color-contrasting stitching that varies by trim level. A great choice for those who live active lifestyles, the Passport also boasts a maximum cargo capacity of 77.9 cubic feet with the second-row seats folded flat. Easy-to-clean hard plastic surfaces on the seatbacks mean that you can carry a week’s worth of messy equipment like camping gear or mountain bikes. You can also take advantage of a specialized underfloor storage compartment that adds 2.5 cubic feet of extra cargo space along with optional removable and washable bins.
