Honda Passport Exterior

About the Honda Passport

Say hello to the most rugged and adventurous member of the proven family of Honda crossovers and SUVs. The Passport offers a unique combination of on-road comfort and invigorating off-road capabilities that help you get out and take the path less traveled. Impressive interior dimensions help create a spacious yet versatile cabin for both you and your passengers to enjoy. Positioned between the compact CR-V and the family-friendly Pilot, the Honda Passport offers a number of key performance features that separate it from the competition. Examples include its reinforced unibody frame, muscular direct-injection i-VTEC® V6 engine, and a fully independent suspension. No matter how challenging the terrain, the optional Honda i-VTM4™ torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system and its seven standard drive modes will help you get there. The Honda Passport is available in three individual trim levels: the well-appointed RTL, rugged TrailSport, and the fully equipped TrailSport Elite.

What the Critics Say

We came away from a day driving a pre-production Passport TrailSport with generally good vibes, especially considering the previous version of this model wasn’t especially suited for going beyond pavement (mild tires, no underbody protection). The new model delivered a smooth ride, both on-road and off-road at moderate speeds.” — Car and Driver
The rugged appearance is a welcome nod to Honda products of yore, from the beloved Element to the first-gen Passport, a badge-engineered Isuzu Rodeo. The entire package looks better than the previous Passport and brings it more in line with the redesigned Pilot; no longer do both look like glorified minivans.” — Edmunds

What’s New for 2026

2026 is a big year for the Honda Passport thanks to a significant redesign that improves both the interior and exterior of this rugged SUV. Arguably the most impactful is its exterior refresh that’s highlighted by a wider rear track, additional ground clearance, a longer wheelbase, new headlights, and new fender flares for a more aggressive look. When it comes to performance, its previous V6 engine receives a 5-horsepower boost that brings the total to 285. Larger brake calipers and a new 10-speed automatic transmission are other advantages of the 2026 model. Finally, its premium cabin benefits from new materials, standard heated seats, and a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen display infotainment system.

Honda Passport Features

Honda Passport Styling

Rugged Styling

Instantly recognizable as a capable off-road vehicle, the Honda Passport captures attention with its elevated ride height, matte-black grille, blackout headlight design, and optional 20-inch alloy wheels. Even when you return from your adventure, the Passport remains sophisticated enough for city streets with design elements like gloss-back trim, chrome exhaust tips, LED headlight accents, and a striking “floating” C-pillar.

Extending beyond its good looks, the Passport delivers enhanced capability with 8.3 inches of additional ground clearance as compared to the previous generation Honda Passport. The Passport also benefits from longer overall length, shorter rear overhangs, and superior breakover and departure angles for remarkable off-road performance.

Honda Passport Interior

Versatile Interior

Delivering a modern yet sophisticated look, the interior of the Honda Passport delivers remarkably spacious seating for up to 5 passengers and outstanding interior dimensions to help everyone stretch out and get comfortable. Leather-trimmed upholstery is included as standard and is accented with color-contrasting stitching that varies by trim level. A great choice for those who live active lifestyles, the Passport also boasts a massive cargo capacity with the second-row seats folded flat. Easy-to-clean hard plastic surfaces on the seatbacks mean that you can carry a week’s worth of messy equipment like camping gear or mountain bikes. You can also take advantage of a specialized underfloor storage compartment that adds 2.5 cubic feet of extra cargo space along with optional removable and washable bins.

Honda Passport Technology

Groundbreaking Safety & Technology

There’s also an available 5G LTE in-vehicle Wi-Fi TCU that adds connectivity for up to 7 divides in addition to a complimentary 3-year unlimited Google built-in data plan. This cutting-edge system also provides access to HondaLink® cloud-based services including maintenance tracking, appointment scheduling, and vehicle location services.
